I'm so glad you've found us! I’m Amber, the founding witch behind Dark Star Curiosities. I’ve been practicing for more than 30 years, but I continue to learn every day.

Dark Star Curiosities has always been about more than what sits on the shelves. It’s a place for curiosity, learning, community, and finding a little bit of magic in the strange and beautiful things that call to us.

My shop blossomed from a lifelong love of witchcraft, crystals and minerals, the unusual, and the wonderfully weird. What started as a dream has become a community I’m incredibly grateful to lead.

Behind the scenes, I’m spending my time with Ben, the love of my life, and our small but highly opinionated ferret family. I'm usually found with a good book and a coffee, tucked away in a corner of a cafe somewhere.

Dark Star is based in Wilmington, North Carolina, but you’ll also find us wandering beyond our usual corner of the world for markets, conventions, and other events.

I have spent more than 30 years studying witchcraft and metaphysics, with lots of history in several different pathways. Every Dark Star ritual item is hand crafted by me from my own recipes, and our sourced ritual goods are all brought to the shop with deep intention and energy.

My ultimate dream is to create a local store space where the local community can come together and grow.
